Harrisburg Salon The Jenelle Bryans

Ok, so I have been going to Jenelle for years now, long before she opened her own salon, and to be honest she was a good stylist. I can't say that I have seen rat droppings, rats, or roaches for that matter, but to be quite honest, I haven't been there in months.
The atmosphere there has definitely changed, she has been through several nail techs and several stylists.
The problem that I see is all the gossip that goes on between ALL the sytlists and the customers. If you want to know what's going on with people just stop at the Harrisburg Salon.
I also have to be quite honest, when I went to a new person, someone who is a salon owner, a stylist and also a teacher in the cosmetology field, I found out that my hair had not been cut properly, the eyebrow waxing that I had gotten done, was also not done properly.
Also found out that some of the things that were being done at the salon where not up to State Board approval keeping combs and shears in jacket pockets, clips being clipped onto jackets etc.
I can't say it's a bad place to go, I just know I will no longer be going there.
I have found someone who is doing the right hair cuts, the right waxing and I don't have to worry about the gossip, because there really isn't any. I don't hear about other clients, there is no talk about other stylists, or about the nail techs. It's your choice, so you have to decide for yourself, AS I DID

I was recommended to Jenelle when I moved here and haven't switched to anyone ever since (almost 5 years!). I love her friendly attitude and always leave very satisfied with how my hair looks. The salon is adorable and I have NOT seen rats or roaches ever. If its a recent thing, I'm sure it will be fixed quickly, Jenelle's salon has gotten awesome cleanliness ratings from the board. I have recommended her to everyone. -Anna

the atmosphere in this salon was very unfriendly and the establishment was very unclean. Haircut was a hot mess would not recommend this to anyone.

I had to post here, and since Rants and raves is being deleted, i'd start here.

DO NOT go to this salon. my husband bought me a gift certificate to get my hair done there

From the minute i walked in there was an odd smell, but i didn' think too much of it.

Halfway through my hair being done and went to the restroom, as im sitting on the toilet a roach runs across my foot!
I was completely grossed out but i had bleach on my head so there wasn't much i could do.. I told the girl, and to be honest she did not seem to concerned.

about an hour later as we're finishing up, im sitting there and all of a sudden in the corner of my eye i see something, i turn around and its a rat sniffing around a trash can!!!
I freaked out and pointed it out to the lady and she made some comment like "oh i saw that thing last week and couldn't seem to catch him". Once again she did NOT seem very concerned or embarassed.
I will neeeevvverrr go back to that place again and DO NOT recomend it, OBVIOUSLY they have some major sanitation issues.

obviously the people on here that claim that Jenelle is such a great stylist have never had their hair done by a proffesional stylist-if they had they would know the difference. I went to Jenelle to have my hair done for my daughters wedding. After almost 2 excruciating hours sitting in her chair just to have a simple updo and having her do and undo my hair in my frustration I had to walk out and fix my own hair. I also saw the unhealthy condtions in the Salon with rat droppings spider webs and dirt under chairs in the reception area that had been there for quite some time. Not a very professtional experince or establishment in my opionion. Would not recommend to any one.

I was getting my hair done one day and a rat ran across my foot and I saw obvious rat droppings around the shopI do not recommend this place and wonder if the State Board knows of the issues of the Rats residing in the Salon. On top of that the owner was very unfriendly to myself and others I had sent to the salon since she was NOT the person doing our hair.

Jenelle has been cutting my hair for about 5 years i believe and i have never had anyone else touch my hair since i've been going to her. i love this place :)

I too have been going to Jenelle since she opened her own salon! It is BEAUTIFUL & TRENDY! She does an amazing job and makes sure that you are happy! I have recommended this salon to all of my friends! :)

I have been going to Jenelle since before she opened her own salon. She worked on this place from the ground up. It is clean, pristine, perfect. Her prices are 1/2 to 1/3 less than comparable businesses just a few miles away in Charlotte, and I believe the quality is far superior. This is a consumer best bet. As more people find out, be prepared to call early and wait for an appointment :-)
